In this paper, the ring concepts have been extended. The authors define principal ideal rings for commutative rings (not necessarily with identity) and have proved that this definition is equivalent to the usual definition in the case of a ring with identity. Then some results for principal ideals rings have been generalized by them. They have studied direct sums, direct summands and quotient rings. It is shown that every Euclidean ring is a principal ideal ring.
