The analysis of 25 gizzard contents, obtained from the birds hunted from around Dalbandine (Western Chagai, Baluchistan) suggested that the Houbara Bustard (Chlamydotis undulates macquenni) is very versatile in its food and feeding preferences. The qualitative analysis suggested that 31.44% of its food is derived from animal sources which mainly come from ground beetles (Carabus sp.;28.02%) and ants (3.42%). A total of 21 different plant species were isolated from the contents, which prominently included Tribulus terrestris (23.32%), Heliotropium cabulicum (10.28%), Alhagi camelorum (6.40%), Plantago sp. (5.40%), Haloxylon ammodenderon (3.36) and Artemisia maritima (3.20%).
