The yield response of 11 varieties of wheat (6 varieties 94 imported from Mexico, viz., Cejema, Jupateco, Nuri, Potam, Tarim, Yeccora; and 5 local varieties, viz.Barani-70, Maintenance 157, mexi-Paki-65, Pak-70, T-1-751 to four irrigation regimes (0, 7.5, 5.0, 22.5 cm water) was studied in the field. Among the newly -introduced varieties Nuri and Jupateco gave the highest yields. Nuri yielded best under low and Jupateco under high irrigation.
