The study of soil profile of Chichawatni irrigated forest plantation was initiated to evaluate various physical and chemical constants in the profile, within the rooting zone, and its resulting bearing on the growth. Soil samples were taken after recording certain apparent physical characteristics of the profile and were put to physico-chemical analysis. The results showed that alluvial s oils, in an irrigated plantation are rich in total nitrogen. The distinguishing feature of the study had been the results showing depressive effect of afforestation on the uprise of salts in the profile. Necessary tables have been given.
