Abstract:
Pre and post-transplantation treatments of the tobacco fields with granules of Curaterr, Diazinon, Dyfonate, Evisect, Hostathion, Lorsban, Miral and Thiodan at 1.68, 1.008, 1.12, 1.12, 1.12, 1.12, 1.12 and 1.68 Kgs (a.i.) per hectare respectively against Agrolis spp. at Mardan revealed that post-transplantation treatment (i.e. after the first evidence of cutworm damage) was significantly effective in reducing cutworm infestation than the pre-transplantation treatment Of all the insecticides, Lorsban proved more effective in lowering cutworm infestation. This was followed by Thiodan, Evisect, Curaterr, Hostathion, Diazinon, Miral and Dyfonate respectively. Dyfonate proved to be least effective of all the insecticides.
