Occurrence of Chilodonella sp. at two commercial fish farms on the river -Itchen and Test Hampshire, U.K.

Abstract:
Chilodonella species infection occurred in mucus of at two fish farms on the river Itchen and Test. The prevalence of Chilodonella was higher in second survey in Itchen Abbas fish farm o11 the River Itchen. The lower prevalence of the parasite was also recorded in Romsey fish farm on the River Test. Chilodonella showed its peak prevalence (100%) between 6ºC and 11ºC. The maximum number of 10 parasites per mucus Scrape was noted at both farms Chloramine-T was used to control the external parasites.
