Abstract:
Solid and hazardous waste may be treated or processed prior to its final disposal. Waste treatment of processing offer several advantages. First, it can serve to reduce the total volume and weight of material that requires disposal. Volume reduction helps to conserve land resources, since the land is the ultimate 'Sink' for most material. Finally, processing can serve to recover natural resources and energy in the waste material, for recycling or reuse. In this paper, the methods of waste analysis and processing are given towards its useful ends. This can be applied for the municipal waste generated in the big cities such as Karachi and for the agricultural waste lying in abundant quantities in the rural areas of the country.
