Abstract:
A switchboard panel with fixed type VCB offers the real advantages of a vacuum circuit breaker and apart from limiting the equipment handling to a minimum also provides a quick and convenient access (physically and visually) to various individual components. Use of a very compact panel is made possible and a panel with a width of only 600mm can be made for an impulse level as high as 95 Kv. No wearing of isolating contacts and trolley is involved and the problems linked with the alignment of trolley and isolating contacts are also completely avoided. On top of these features, it offers a more economical solution when compared with a panel with withdrawable type of breaker. For this more economical type of panel, the only choice for the type of the breaker is a Vacuum Circuit breaker.
