Abstract:
The packed bed axial thermal conductivity which was evaluated from steady state packed bed temperature profiles by Votruba, Hiavacek, and Marek has been analysed in detail and a new empirical formula has been suggested for the computation of axial heat transport Peclet number, which seems to give good agreement with the experimental results of the above workers.
