Abstract:

Different carbon sources were tested for their effect on spore germination of Curvularia lunata (Wakker) Boedijn by hanging drop technique. The fungus was found to utilize monosaccharides and disaccharides more easily than polysaccharides. There was a slight germination in I% citric acid and malic acid after 24 hours and none at all in malic acid.
