Abstract:
Gehlenite, C2 As, is an important component of Blast Furnace slag. The data of the activities of Cao, and SiO2 were taken from three. sources. Δ G° value for Gehlenite is calculated. It is found to be in agreement with the other published data. This method can thus be used in calculating the thermodynamic properties of slag components in order to understand the mechanism of slag formation in blast furnace.
