Abstract:
Physical features like temperature of Hx 0(during working hours), colour, depth, rate of flow of water, inorganic suspended solids (I.S.S), organic suspended solids (O.S.S.), total suspended solids (T.S.S.), dissolved organic matter, organic matter in bottom mud and salinity of water of Khiyalai River near Charsadda, N.W.F.P., Pakistan. were studied from May, 1987 to August, 1987. The mean values for these parameters were found to be 23.8°C + 0. 6(23), muddy to muddy grey, 2.48m ± 0.35(23) 4.5 km /hr ± 0.18, 291 ppm + 34.9 (11), 60.6 ppm ± 60.6 ppm + 7.75(23) 352 ppm ± 40.0(23) , 242 ppm ± 48.3 (23) , 22554 ppm ± 2489.5(23), 0.024 ± 0.04 (23).
