Abstract:
A redescription of the subfamily Orientodiploproctodaeinse Bhutta and Khan, 1970, is presented based on four species belonging to two new genera Multiovarium and Anterodiscus from the fish Pseudosciaena discanthus(Lac.), of Karachi coast. Genus Multiovarium is characterized by possessing bilobed follicular ovary, follicular vitellaria extending only in the hind body, uterus a single coiled tube in the bind body reaching to posterior extremity, tubular coiled seminal vesicle situated posterior or poaterodorsal to acetabulum, tubular excretory vesicle bifurcating in the testicular region and arms reaching to the anterior disc. Two species M. heteroformisformis and M. interrupt um are described in the genus. Gentle Anterodiscus is characterized by possessing single smooth ovary, vitelline follicles extending laterally throughout the body length, uterus may be a single coiled tube in the hind body or consisting of one median branch extending posteriorly and two lateral branches extending interiorly, elongate unlobed or bibbed seminal vesicle extending from behind acetabulum to immediately anterior to it and tubular excretory vesicle. The two species described in this genus are A. biseminalia and A. triuteri.
