Abstract:
Sindhi is widely spoken in the Sindh province of Pakistan, and is one among the officially recognized lngauges of the country. This paper presents the acoustic analysis of the liquid class of consonant sounds of Sindhi language inventory. The entire study is based on the collected voice samples from the native Sindhi speakers. The voice samples recording were made as VCV format. The acoustic analysis and results are mainly based on the three main acoustic parameters determined from the recorded voice samples comprising the liquid consonants of Sindhi. The acoustic waveform and the spectrogram for each sound are generated for the detailed acoustic analysis and discussion. Subtle and major differences among the lateral and trill consonants of the liquid class of consonants are highlighted. The overall obtained results are positive and highly encouraging.
