Abstract:

Patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) are medically compromised and their health status can change, making it very important that dental professionals to obtain a thorough health history. Careful assessment of the patient`s health can aid in determination of the potential influences of HIV disease stage on dental treatment planning. This article discusses the clinical findings, treatment considerations and current medications related to the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
