Weed communities in the wheat fields of Mayar-Jandool, District Dir.

Abstract:
There were 39 and 42 weed species during April and May, respectively, in the wheat fields of Mayar-Jandool, District Dir. Five weed communities viz: 1) Stellaria-Poa-Lamium in Mayar, 2) Poa-Medicago-Ranunculus in Paloso, 3) Medicago-Poa-Fumaria in Toor Qilla, 4) Stellaria-Poa-Medicago in Janmia and 5) Poa-Medicago-Ranunculus in Gambeer were recognized during April, while 4 communities namely: 1) Medicago-Poa-Stellaria in Mayar and Toor Qilla, 2) Stellaria-Medicago-Ranunculus in Palos, 3) Medicago-Setaria-Stellaria in Janmia and 4) Phalaris-Medicago-Stellaria in Gambeer were recognized during May. Setllaria media L., Poa annua L., Medicago polymorpha L., Fumaria indica (Hausskn) Pugsly, Ranunculus arvensis L., Phalaris minor Retz, Setaria italica (Linn) P. Beauv., and Lamium amplexicaule L., were the dominant weeds. The important values of the dominant and other weeds varied during April and May.32.752.2 Aphids
