Abstract:
In Pakistan urban transport decisions often appear to be made in adhoc piecemeal ways which emphasize the importance of movement for movements sake rather than in the context of agreed comprehensive, and integrated policies. This paper discusses the importance of the evolutionary approach to transport planning in urban areas which emphasizes continual improvement upon the existing situation, rather than necessarily aiming at revolutionary solutions to dramatic problems.
