Abstract:

The present study describes the impact of nitenpyram and neem leaf extract against Pheretima posthuma earthworm. The LD50 of nitenpyram was found to be 0.2908 ppm. Mean mortality against Pheretima posthuma after 48-hours exposure has been observed as 20, 30, 40, 60 and 80% in respect of 0.06, 0.12, 0.24, 0.48 and 0.96 ppm, in soil, respectively. The L D50 of neem leave extract was found to be 5.47 ppm. Mean mortality against Pheretima posthuma after 48-hours exposure has been observed as 10, 20, 30, 40 and 60% in respect of 0.50, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0 and 8.0 ppm, respectively.
