Abstract:
The Solubility of Maleic acid has been studied both in water and aqueous salt solution at 298-348+1K The salts studied were chloride, bromide, and Iodide of potassium in addition to the chloride of sodium. The solubility of Maleic acid in aqueous media increased with the increase in temperature while decreased with the increase of the electrolyte concentrations. This decrease in the solubility of, Maleic acid was explained on the basis of ionic radii of the anions and cations studied.
