Abstract:
Histological studies of infected liver of Pseudosciaena diacanthus with four types of larvae namely Anisakis sp. , Porrocaecum sp. , Angusticaecum sp. and Contracaecum sp. , were carried out and host tissue reactions were observed. The observations revealed inflammation, infiltration of various cell types, necrosis and atrophy of liver cells in the area of larval migration and location. While in other regions hypertrophy and vacuolization of liver parenchyma and proliferation of fibrous connective tisue was evident around the larvae. Similar host tissue reactions were seen adjacent to larvae mentioned above.
