Abstract:
In this study, we have synthesized and characterized a novel triazole based supramolecular chemosensor for the detection of dichromate. The fluorescent chemosensor 6 was synthesized using click reaction. The structure of chemosensor 6 was characterized using UV visible, NMR and mass spectroscopic techniques. Compound 6 displayed extremely high sensitivity to Cr2O7 2- by fluorescence quenching mechanism. Responses to other anions present in the solution, such as F- , Cl- , Br- , I- , N3- , SO4 2-, CH3COO- , ClO4- , NO3- , CO3 2- and the effect of pH value on the efficiency of the sensor molecule have also been investigated. Chemosensor 6 exhibits very good selectivity to Cr2O7 2- ions over other anion tested as no significant interference was observed. Under optimal conditions, its response was linearly proportional to the concentration of Cr2O7 2- in a range from (10-100 µM) with determination coefficient of 0.9911. The proposed method was successfully applied to the direct determination of Cr2O7 2- in real samples.
