Abstract:

Experiments were carried out for the analysis of the raw material and cooking of the Prosopis Juliflora (Mesquite) to explore the possibility of its utilization as paper pulp. The results obtained from the analysis of dried raw material showed that it consist of alpha-cellulose 61.5%, Ash or Silica 1.31% etc., physical and Chemical methods have been used for the manufacture of pulp and hand made sheets.
