Abstract:

The prevalence rates of abnormal hemoglobins and thalassemia trait in a group of 614 adult males were found to be 0.5% and 0.3% respectively. G6PD deficiency was detected by the BCB Screening Test in 7.5% of the individuals. The prevalence of anemia by WHO criteria was 14.8% in this series.
