The influence of some nutritional factors on the resistance of some new rice cultivars, against the attack of Tryporyza spp. stemborers.

Abstract:
Estimates of soluble sugars, crude proteins and fats of 5 rice cultivars were made and their correlation with borer-infestation was studied. The changes in crude proteins were found to be negatively correlated with the changes in borer-infestation while those in soluble sugars and fats were found non significant. The overall influence of the 3 nutritional factors on the infestation of these cultivars, by the borer larvae, was 69.9596.
