Abstract:

From a collection of various freshwater localities of Peshawar Valley, 37 unicellular green algal species belonging to 6 genera of the phylum Volvocophycota were identified in which 10 species found to belong to the genus Closterium, nine species to each genus Characium and Cosmarium, five species to the genus Chlamydonwnas and minimum two species to each genus Carteria and Chlorella were observed during the study period. The aim of present study was to determine, taxonomic studies of unicellular green algal species along with the locations, pH of the water and season.
