Abstract:
Effect of different rates of Zn and Cu on the yield of IR-6 cultivar of rice was studied at Ratta Kulachi, D.I. Khan and Tarnab, Peshawar. Zn and Cu at the rate of 0.1,0,2.5 and 5.0 kg/ha were foliarly applied 20 and 60 days after transplantation. In addition, Zn and Cu were used in combination at the rate of 5 kg/ha each. Nitrogen and phosphorus, at the rate of 120 and 80 kg/ha, were applied to all the experimental plots before transplanting as basal dose. The rice crop responded to Zn and Cu fertilization, but the response was more to Zn than to Cu. However, to increase rice yields, the application of Zn and Cu at the rate of 5.0 Kg and 1.0 Kg per ha, respectively is recommended.
