Abstract:
The isolation of three triterpenes, Lupeol, vaxarol and Daturadiol is reported as a new source from Saracococca saligna. All the isolated compounds were purified by column chromatography on silica-gel Iumn using n-hexane and dichloromethane as solvent. The identity of all the purified compounds was confirmed by chemical and spectroscopic methods incIuding 1H, 13C-NMR, UV, MS etc. Complete -NMR chemical shifts were assigned to Daturadiol with the help of conventional and inverse 2D-NMR techniques (DEPT. HMQC and FIMBC) for the first time.
