Abstract:
A recent World Bank study suggests that per capita availability of water is 1102 cubic meters that has placed Pakistan among high water stressed countries. For more than four decades, WaterAid is striving to address the issues of access, service delivery, inclusivity, quality, quantity, and sustainability of WASH services through: a. The advocacy and policy discussions on SDG 6 within the context of its wider relationships with other SDGs in the Agenda 2030 on social issues (e.g., health outcomes, awareness on water rights, participation), ecological issues (e.g., water conservation, environmental protection, pollution) and economic issues (e.g., reduction in health costs, low-cost water & sanitation services in underserved areas) b. Building a coalition and network of like-minded organizations for policy-influence, awareness, advocacy, and capacity building for provision of equitable WASH services in the province. c. Demonstration of climate-resilient WASH models such as I-8 Kachnar Park's groundwater recharge model, Saidpur village's DWTS following the NbS approach, and Rooftop Rainwater Harvesting
