Abstract:
In order to raise the agricultural production in the country the author suggests measures for the control of soil erosion and salinity, and the adoption of improved methods of crop husbandry. The latter include (a) raising cropping intensities, (b) redistribution of crop belts, (c) evolution of suitable crop varieties, (d) use of good seeds, (e) timely and proper sowing (f) use of fertilizers, (g) pest control, and (h) use of improved implements. Also advocates the introduction of crop insurance against flood and pests.
