Abstract:
The distribution of morphological variability of primitive wheat and barley from Northern Pakistan is described. The Pakistani naked barley showed distinct regional variation at least as marked as the regional variation previously shown by Nepalese barley by other workers. The wheat data when analysed on the basis of individual characters revealed regional patterns. Some regions were more homogenous than others and the degree of homogeneity would appear to be related to the ease of communication.
