Abstract:
Zinc substituted ferrites with general formula Mg(1-X) Znx Fe2O4 (where X=0.0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0) were prepared by ceramic technique. The thermoelectric power was measured by differential methods in the temperature range 30-200oC. It was observed that both n and p-type carriers were responsible for conduction in these materials. Sample for which X=0.0 shows p-type behavior and that with X=0.25 shows an n-type behavior throughout the temperature range mentioned above. The samples with X=0.5, 0.75, 1.0 show n-type behavior. It was observed that all the samples are degenerate type semi-conductors.
