An unreported genus Scolecobasidium Abbot of hyphomycetous fungi for Pakistan.

Abstract:
The genus Scolecobasdium Abbot, has been discovered from the soil, collected from the cultivated saline/sodic areas of the country i.e. Dera Ismaeel Khan (Peshawar), Faisalabad and Karachi These studies were carried out under the project entitled "Taxonomy of cellalolytic fungi isolated from the sodic and saline areas of the country". The species of this genus are: Scolecobasidium constrictum Abbot; S. humicola Barron & Busch S. terreum Abbot, S. variabile Barron & Busch. All-these taxa are a record from Pakistan.
