Abstract:
The causative factors and scale measurement of earthquakes are discussed and some major earthquake events in recorded history are described. The formation of volcanoes and the relationship between volcanic activity and earthquakes are also discussed. Various techniques employed for the prediction of earthquakes are reviewed.
