Abstract:
Gravity concentration studies were carried out on froth floated lead concentrate mixture of Derbyshire's Flourspar Dressing Plant to obtain a saleable product. Tests were carried out on coarse size range (-420 micron) lead concentrate material and' on classified sub-sieve size range (-20 micron) material. A mozley laboratory Separator (Mozley Separator) was used for all the tests. Various dispersants were added to sub-sieve material to achieve a well dispersed slurry. Results obtained from the subsieve material were excellent. Lead was upgraded from 45% to 69% Pb with 59% recovery as compared to upgradation of lead from 36% Pb to 61% Pb with only 49% recovery when no dispersant was used and the material was not classified.
