Abstract:
Thirty-eight SI Families of sunflower derived from a random mated sunflower population were sown in randomized complete block design with three replications in a single row plot of 3.5 m length with plant to plant and row to row distance of 23 and 75 cm, respectively. The bird damage on sunflower crop was estimated as percentage of total achenes removed from the sunflower head on individual plant basis. The mean squares from the analysis of variance for plant height, stem inclination, number of leaves per plant, head shape, head diameter, bird damage at R6 stage and pooled data (average bird damage from R6 to R9 stages) indicated highly significant (p
