Abstract:
Medicinal plants and plant-derived medicinal drug are widely used in traditional societies everywhere in the global and they're turning into more and more famous as herbal options to artificial chemical substances in present day society. The pores and skin, that's the body's outermost frame and is exposed to many environmental stimuli that may result in a diffusion of inflammatory immunological reactions. The purpose of this study is to isolate and purify compounds from methanolic fraction of Vitex Negundo and to evaluate their anti-fungal potential against fungal strains Tricophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes causing Dermatomycoses. The plant was collected from District Kohat. The plant powder will be soaked in methanol for 10 days at room temperature. The mixture will be shaked daily and the extract will be obtained via filtration. The filtrate will be evaporated by a rotary evaporator at a controlled temperature and lowered pressure to produce crude extract. Current result confirmed the presence of pure compounds through Column chromatography and thin layer chromatography. Further characterization of pure compounds will be done including NMR, FTIR, UV etc.
