A new lutrine genus (Carnivora: Mammalia) from Gaal, District Jhelum, Punjab.

Abstract:
A lutrine maxillary fragment of the left side has been described from Gaal (Bhaadar Bone Beds), district Jhelum. It comprises the last upper premolar and the first molar. A comparison with the known material of the subfamily lutrinae has revealed that it is a new genus. The name Gaalina ghaznavi n.g. et n.sp has been assigned to this new form.
