Abstract:
The present study was aimed at screening and identifying pollution tolerant algal species from the industrial wastewater of Lahore city. A total of 74 species belonging to 24 genera, 20 families were collected and identified. The highest numbers of families (08) were belonging to phylum Chlorophyta, followed by phylum Bacillariophyta (07) families. Identifying heavy metal tolerant species from industrial wastewater may serve to be used as bio sorbent in phytoremediation programme.
