Toxic elements in the drinking waters of Pakistan.

Abstract:
There is no city in Pakistan where the drinking water is safe to drink. Due to the presence of E. Coli. Water borne disease are common in Pakistan, especially in rural areas. High concentration of fluorides are investigated in the ground waters of Punjab. Nitrates as N are present in the waters of Southern Punjab, especially in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim-yar-Khan and Sadiqabad. Investigation also showed the presence of arsenic in the drinking water, which was confirmed by UNICEF. High concentration of bonned pesticides are still being used and are present in the run off water from fields, canals and in the soil.
