Abstract:
A comparative study of 114 patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers treated by Pean (51) patients or polya - Finsterer (63) patients’ gastrectomies has been reported. The Pean anastomosis is preferred because it speeds the patient`s recovery and return to normal activity. The only major drawback is the slightly higher incidence of recurrent ulcer than in the Polya resection.
