Abstract:
The causes of food insufficiency in developing countries are surveyed. Modern agricultural practices Including the use of improved spraying machines such as the ultra-low voltage (U.V) sprayer, and the utilization of bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi as insecticides are described. New developments in the Agricultural Sciences ore discussed, including the production of new plant strains through cross pollination, exposure of seeds to gamma radiation and through genetics engineering. The Importance of establishing a national germ plasm bank is stressed.
