Unilateral decreased gallium limb uptake in Poliomyelitis.

Abstract:
Background A 33yearold female had a history of poliomyelitis affecting her lower right limb at the age of 5year. She presented with gradually increasing right knee pain and was referred to the nuclear medicine department for a bone scan for suspected arthritis of the knee and other joints. Procedure A 3phase bone scan of the knees together with a wholebody bone scan and SPECTCT were performed. To exclude the possibility of septic arthritis, a gallium67 scan was additionally performed with imaging at 24 and 48 hours.
