Abstract:
A coordinated rural medicine scheme has been suggested for East Pakistan which would bring the rural medical centres into closer association with the Divisional, District or Subdivisional hospitals. The establishment of a consultant grade in rural and preventive medicine is necessary, and for initiating this consultant service an 'institute of preventive and tropical medicine' should be opened.
