Abstract:
The albumins were separated from total Slat-soluble protein extracts of chickpea and lentil_ cotyledons and were subjected to chromatograhy on DEAE-cellulose column. Chromatographic fractions were further analysed by electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel. The albumins of investigated cotyledons were composed of a heterogeneous system of chromatographic fractions. The chromatographic fraction were further characterised by a complex electrophoretic composition. An appreciable difference, in the number of chromatographic fractions eluted, the ionic strength of buffer at which the chromatograhic fractions had their maximum elution and the electrophoretic behaviours of chromatographic fractions, was observed between the albumins of chickpea and lentil cotyledons.
