Abstract:
Vegetation studies of Chiltan National Park, Hazargangi, Quetta were conducted during April-June, 1985, due to its protected vegetation. Four plant communities viz., Artemisia herba-alba on sandy soil, Artemisia Poa Taeniatherum on sandy loam soil, Bromus-Prunus and Artemisia-Sophora on sandy soil, were recognized on the basis of highest importance values. Physically similar soils differed in their chemical constituents in various communities. The vegetation succession is progressing due to protection. The present vegetation is a remanent of original Juniperus exelsa forests in the area.
