Abstract:
The antinociceptive activity of the methanolic extract of the whole plant of Solanum sisymbrifolium Lamk was investigated using acetic acid-induced writhing model in swiss albino mice. At the doses of 125, 250 and 500 mg kg-`body weight, the extract showed 44.19, 59.53 and 73.02% writhing inhibition, respectively in test animals which were comparable to that of standard drug aspirin (85.12%) and the results were statistically significant (p
