Abstract:
The search for early high sugar varieties of cane has been successful and a few varieties viz., N.Co. 310', C.P. 48/103, have exhibited very good results. As far as the maintenance of the juice quality over a long period, even after the receipt of mild or severe frost, is concerned there are certain other varieties (C.P. 44/101, C.P. 43/47,Co. L. 29) besides the two mentioned above, which can be depended upon in the plant as well as ratoon crops. (The review is not documented).
