A versatile sample holder for electrical resistivity measurement.

Abstract:
The design, fabrication and operation of a resistivity measuring sample holder is presented. The special feature of the sample holder, mainly constructed of alumina tubes and a P.T.F.E. block, is its versatility in scope and simplicity in operation. It can be used up to about 1600°C for two and four probe DC techniques and three probe samples can be mounted together. The sample holder is specially suited for high resistivity (1013 ohm cm) materials and for small samples (approximately 2mm x 2mm x 0.5 mm) of arbitrary shape.
