Abstract:

The effect of Ultraviolet (UV) radiation obtained from different sources like UV lamp, spark source and lightening of clouds on the track recording properties of recently discovered track CR- 39 detectors has been presented. It has been observed that UV is absorbed in a much larger amount by the track as compared to the bulk of the material. The general etching velocity has been found to Increase with increase of UV dose.
