The concentration of semen fructose, zinc and plasma reproductive hormones in subfertile men.

Abstract:
The current study was conducted to evaluate the role of semen fructose (an indicator of seminal vesicular function), zinc an indicator of prostatic function and plasma concentrations of luteinising hormone (LH); follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and testosterone (Te) to ascertain the cause of male sub-fertility. Semen fructose and zinc concentrations in healthy virile adults (n=11) were found to be 329.64 ± 12.91 mg/dl and 2.89 ± 0.52 Hmol/ejaculate, respectively.
